EYE TO EYE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC

This is just awesome! It gives me faith that there are still people out there who appreciate inventiveness for its own sake and not just how ideas can be marketed as sold.

Have a... look

LOVELY WINNIPEG

Had a great time at Donny's wedding in Winnipeg this past weekend. It was great seeing so many people I haven't seen in a long time and exploringa city I haven't really been to since I was 5 or so (the 1 hr I spent walking around outside the train station in 1998 really doesn't count).

We were also lucky enough to catch the fireworks down at the forks on sunday night. The resto where we were sitting had a great gimmick, instead of heat lamps outside (which are pretty lame to me) they had individual firepits with roaring bonfires. This is the complete antithesis of lame.

Anyway all to say it was great time and I wish Donny and Marika the best!

GOOD WEEKEND

All I can say is that any weekend where you get a good road trip, a lot of good savings at US outlet malls, and a fine 'down home dinner' at cracker barrel restaurant in New York states is a great weekend!

The only thing that was missing was mini golf, but we can do that later this summer.

OK HARPER... THIS IMPRESSED ME

“Four hundred years ago in Quebec City our country was born,” the Prime Minister said. “The foundation of Quebec City is also the foundation of Canada. The Governor-General is the successor of Samuel de Champlain, the first governor of Canada.

Too bad he's so focused on so called 'open federalism' which will only serve to fan the flames of
nationalism, regionalism and provicialism.

ANOTHER GREAT CANADIAN PASSES

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20080505.OBCACCIA05/TPStory/?query=caccia

I knew Charles over the past four years working on Ottawa's municipal Environmental Adivsory Committee. He could be smart, rude, witty, obnoxious, collaborative, divisive and hyper-intelligent.

However his desire to work for a better world never stopped, nor did his work. He should be an inspiration to all of this and newer generations of the importance of hard work and passion to create a just, sustainable, prosperous and happy world. I fear his kind are rarer and rarer these days. People of principle and passion. The young... indeed all of us can learn much from his memory.

LESBIAN OR LESBIAN

"My sister can't say she is a Lesbian," said plaintiff Dimitris Lambrou. "Our geographical designation has been usurped by certain ladies who have no connection whatsoever with Lesbos."

This is just comical for so many reasons.
