GETTING THE BALL ROLLING!

After about 8 months of foundational work on the Ottawa Sustainability Fund (a fund that I envisioned and helped to create over the past 2 years) has finally gotten some mainstream preses

This is a very basic article and nowhere near as detailed as the piece I wrote for Ottawa Life Magazine but because its in one of two primary local papers its value will be in the numbers of people who will see/read about this and hopefully pledge funds or start asking for money. The Ottawa Life article has a much smaller circulation and netted us 2 of our advisors and about $5k in cash.

So here's hoping this does us even better!

Cheers,

P

  • Greater exposure is a good thing. I hope this will result in more donations to grow the Fund. After all, you can't rely solely on weddings to drum-up cash. ;)

[ how much money was collected through the Pat-Liz kiss jar anyway? ... not including Indian rupees ]

  • Thanks Mark. Actually we've attracted about $5,000 since Janaury including the $116 raised at WedFest 2007.

Incidentally the 200 indian rupees last time I checked was about $2 CAD. I did not include it in the donation.

    Cheers,

  • Cool, Pat. Do you guys have a website or anything like that?

  • Doug,

We have no web presence yet but we have had the one article in the Citizen, another I wrote for a local magazine and we expect to have more media soon.

I'm fairly sure one of the local TV franchises would pick this up as a local interest story (at least that is what the station employee said) and it is quite possible that after securing at least one BIG donor a fairly high profile individual who can draw cameras (even if I'm not necessary pleased at who it is) has signalled his interest in being part of an event.

    Cheers,

    P
