GOD BLESS YOU WOMEN..... Clearly the Conservatives won't

Recently the Tories removed funding for the following (along with many other good programs):$5 million: Administrative reductions to Status of Women Canadahttp://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20060926/spending_cuts_060926?s_name=&no_ads=

Recently, Peter MacKay (the Minister of Foreign Affairs) apparently referred to his former lady friend, Liberal MP Belinda Stronach, as a dog http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20061020.MACKAYSTRONACH20/TPStory/

Even more recently, this

Well I know I'd feel valued by the current government if I were a woman....

LADIES... VOTE THEM OUT! before they take that away from you too.

Cheers,

P

  • I've read a lot about Canadian anti-feminist extremists (regrettably, a lot of their "literature" has quite an audience south of the border), but it's sad to see this sort of thing making it into the mainstream.

Hey, on the bright side, we're virtually certain to have our first ever female Speaker of the House in another two weeks! ;)

  • We got our first female chancellor (PM). Doesn't help much, but its a heck of an improvement over the last two douchebags (male) we had from both parties.

  • I honestly don't think this is a situation of 'anti-feminist extremists'. For one I'm about as much of a fan of feminist extremists as I am of anti-feminist extremists. That is I don't like extremists.

In this case I just think its a case of a arrogant minister who is still pissed off over his breakup. On the other hand cutting funding for certain women's programmes just because they were programs initiated by the previous government is petty and to me demonstrates that partisanship is more important than constituents and that I have a major problem with.

Also Falco, you'll have to tell my way Schroeder was so bad. From the outside it seemed like he did an ok job?

    Cheers,

  • Well for once we wasted a good mandate and a general willingness to reform by doing too little, too late and repeatedly interferring in business. He doesn't seem to be any cleaner than Kohl, considering his stake in the Russian gas pipe-deal and his chumminess with Putin.

Of course, all the conservative opposition - ranging from awkward to awful - did was considering his most important fault to be his coloured hair.

P.S.: I need your new contact numbers and are you ever online?

    Cheers,
